Shortly after 5:30 PM on Monday, 2/3/15, I came into contact with a USPS mail carrier at the Pilot gas station located on 136 North Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919.
I was parking my car to enter the store, at which time the postal employee beeped his horn and motioned for me to move my car. Admittedly, parking was tight, so I motioned for him to exit the parking lot the opposite way, at which time he became angry. The employee rolled down his window and said “What’s your ******* problem?! Move your ******* car!”. I asked him if he really wanted to make a public scene which would prompt me to contact the postal service to report his conduct, to which he replied “I really wish you would, please do; I carry your mail and I know where you live.”. He then sped away in his truck, but I was able to take note of the number on the back to identify him: 0224682. Note that several other customers were present and witnessed this outburst.
Such comments are highly inappropriate and will ensure that I avoid using the USPS in the future wherever possible. His initial comments were very rude and demeaning at the very least, and the latter comment I consider to be a direct threat to my personal safety.
The employee should face disciplinary action reflective of the severity of his conduct to me.. I would like to be updated on the situation and final outcome.
