The Roofing Company gave me a quote to fix minor water damage along 2.5 feet (up) x 20 feet (long) and they did the job incorrectly and won’t fix it. I contracted with the roofing company on 10/9/18 to repair a “small” strip (2.5 feet x 20 feet) on the “edge” of my roof. During the quoting process, I told the owner when he gave me the quote that I was concerned with how this would look. He said the shingles would be a different color because they will be new, but will be barely noticeable because it would only be a small strip on the edge. On 12/10/18 the work began. The supervisor and installer made a mistake and misread the document and ripped up “22” feet (NOT 2.5 feet) x 20 feet. Needless to say, this goes all the way up my roof and not just the edge. Now one side of my roof is very noticeably 2 different colors and looks horrible because of the different colors and the jagged edges. Their poor work will cause me to replace my roof and they refuse to fix it. After I was informed of this mistake (because I just so happen to walk outside and look – they didn’t come and tell me when they realized), I asked them to put “my” shingles back up, the owner told me they could not. I asked for them to finish the one side of the roof so that it wouldn’t be noticeable, the owner told me that if they replace more the 25% of the roof, they have to replace the entire roof. Well, this should not be my problem. They made a mistake and they need to fix it. I should not have to replace my entire roof because they can’t read. I have photos of my house and another house that show what my roof repair “should” look like if you’d like me to email them.
