The Food Emporium — Profiling

I went to the hot buffet section during lunch and circled the buffet, occasionally pulling my sunglasses down so that I could read the handwriting on the little glass windows. At all times, my face and hands were at least a foot away from the food. Definitely not closer than the lady who was writing the names of the food items on the glass panes. Nothing caught my eye so I walked away. As soon as I did, a mustached man with an apron stopped me and told me not to touch the food. I was floored cuz as I was perusing, I thought to myself not to get too close to the food because that would be unsanitary. The fact that I had the awareness but was still stopped and humiliated in the store made my blood boil. Took everything in me too not slap the man for what I now assume was profiling and following me in through the store. Reprimand him for his biased behavior and actions
