My wife (a blue badge holder) and I were denied access on our return flight back to Liverpool in November. No reason was given. All appropriate paper work including boarding passes were in order together with proof of vaccination status. This flight was booked back in February and boarding passes printed off only close to the departure date.
We were simply escorted the the Ryanair desk and informed that the only available flight to Liverpool was 2 days later. The only alternative flight offered was to Aberdeen. Totally useless.
Their staff were totally unhelpful and having spent close on an hour with the airport police as the passports had been stamped for departure, we were left stranded at the airport to wait for the rebooked flight.
They seemed to think they were doing us a favour not charging extra for this flight.
I have contacted the Ryanair customer service department both by email and in writing to there office in Dublin without a positive response.
Ryanair were sent photos of boarding passes and the rebooked flight details which clearly show the error was on Ryanair’s part. The only reply to email is that they are dealing with the complaint and will get back with a response. This has not happened.
It would appear that the flight was double booked.
Through the situation I missed an important job interview.
