Learning experience was not worth the money. Terrible customer service. Terrible Job placement. Did nothing to help my career. I enrolled at Film Connection in 2016 and the mentor I was given wasn’t awful but did not fulfill my expectations.Ferrari Productions has been around for a long time and the work was consistent. That being said, I do not feel the internship was worth the money spent as the lessons were not in depth at all and the post production lessons were not hands on. I was expected to watch his assistant and wasn’t really being taught anything one on one. If this were a free internship, then I would understand but for $240 a month, the lessons should have been more in depth. I finished the online portion of the program and got my certificate mailed. Once I was done, I felt as though I left the program with almost nothing. I had minimal knowledge of how to operate a camera, how to set up a shoot, or even edit high quality videos. I ended up enrolling in a $80 community college class and in the first 2 weeks I learned far more in that class than I did at a school I took a loan out for. Fast forward to 2019, I ask Film Connection to link me up with the job placement department to help me get a resume put together and help me find a job. The resume was okay but nothing special, and his idea was of job placement was sending me an email with 25 job ads from indeed. More than half of these listings were expired and the jobs that were still available required a bachelor’s degree which is something I do not have. Fast forward to 2020, the pandemic hits and for most of the year I make my monthly payments until November. My industry took a hit because of the stores not getting stocked, curfews, lockdowns etc and money has become tight. I ask for a payment deferment for November, and was told it was approved but the records with Tuition Options show it was never approved. I ended up getting the payment deferred for November but since money is still tight I asked if it was possible to get December deferred as well. I ask ***** who works at Film Connection If I could get a second deferment and he said I needed to request that from Tuition Options. I call Tuition Options and they tell me that they don’t authorize deferments and that I need request it from Film Connection. ***** calls me today (01/11/21) I ask him about it and he changes his story saying that Film Connection does not authorize more than 1 deferment a year unless it is an extreme circumstance. I guess financial strains due to a pandemic isn’t extreme enough? I ask him why he did not just tell me that before and he became very argumentative and told me he “does not have time to argue” with me. I began getting frustrated and then he further demands that I make my payments. He also started saying things like “yeah you’ve said that already” and other unprofessional remarks. To my knowledge every phone call is recorded so pulling the phone records shouldn’t be an issue to verify everything I have stated. My account is now current and I have $***** remaining but what is the point of giving money to these people when they obviously scammed me and did not provide me with the education or job opportunities they advertised? I would have never taken out a loan to go to Film Connection if I knew they would do next to nothing to ensure I got the proper training I needed to find a decent job.
