  1. The ratings are crazy and D- rating for Namecheap? Unbelievable. I’m gonna say few words of my experience with them and then talk about some uninformed comments here. From my experience using their domain registrar services for the past 10 years of my decade-long interest in the internet, I can boldly say, they are among the most reliable registrars out there, along with dynadot, hexonet and others. Their support has always been very good, they even helped me deal with some restrictive and unorganized registries like .pe with restrictive policies. Domain registrars are charged by registries when we purchase domains through them and they are non-refundable for them. So, if we fail cancelling the domain on domain registrar portal, registries are going to auto-renew through registrar. Some restrictive registries even require renewing domains long before expiration date. So, no point in blaming registrars for charging against domains that were not cancelled on their portals. It’s all automated through button clicks, except for few restrictive registries. Regarding comments regarding email, all email services run their clients outgoing email through spam filter, and failing to do so can get the email service provider’s IP ranges getting blacklisted on the internet, thus denying services for every other client. It’s basic common-sense on the internet. Using domain and other internet technologies have a steep learning curve and they don’t come for free. Like I mentioned before, registries and global government registry agencies charge for each domain name whether we like it or not. I have wasted at-least $100 dollars on domains before I got some idea of how everything worked on the internet. If you are new to this, I’d suggest you take the learning curve seriously and pack some chump change before venturing into the internet. It’s definitely worth it.

  2. I am receiving emails from supposedly from the falsely alerting me to an undelivered package. These emails have increased in frequency. I have alerted the several times however I continue to receive them. A search of the address, which is so brazenly shown at the bottom of the email, revealed that the company was NameCheap. Beware of emails of this type as the explained opening such an email can damage your phone in a variety of ways.

  3. I PAID to participate in NAMECHEAPS domain auction marketplace. on Nov 27, 2021. I logged on about 15 minutes before the auction was supposed to end (5:00 PM eastern that same day), their auction site crashed and I got several “network error” messages.I contacted tech support by chat and they said it was down because of scheduled maintenance and would be back up shortly, which it was AFTER THE AUCTION EXPIRED. As you might imagine, I was livid, since I wasn’t able to participate.Tech support was ZERO help. While they were polite and kept explaining the issue would be fixed soon, they just couldn’t understand that auctions dont work well if bidders cant participate.STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM NAMECHEAP DOMAIN AUCTIONS, UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY FOR NOTHING.

  4. Namecheap, the registar of spammers and scammers. Every spam and scam text I’ve gotten, the domain has been registered by namecheap.Rateshower.com, learnedfaction.com, ballpigeon.com, powderedopinion, com. You name it, from Dr. ** pushing CBD Gummies that cure everything, to p**** enlargements and packages that have an outstanding balance. If it’s a text spam, chances are the namecheap is the registrar on file for the domain that’s in it.ICANN should revoke NameCheap’s registrar status, cause they are abusing it.

  5. I will say this, until I dealt with their customer service, I had good things to say about them. However, now I realize they do not place customer service as a priority. When I signed up for my domain I also subscribed to service for $4.88/mo. I thought this was a great deal and it did more or less what I wanted to. However, what I didn’t realize is that NameCheap had subscribed me to service twice. Now, nearly a year later I finally see this small charge hitting my bank account twice and when I went to confront them about this, they were very unwilling to refund me anything. The best I could get was a lousy prorated refund $3.57, despite the fact that they had over a year’s worth of my money for the duplicate subscription. I canceled all my domain and subscription services with them. Do not trust this company to have your back, or treat you well.

  6. NameCheap has not worked since I subscribed. We attempted clearing the cache and changing the time zone, all to no avail. Tech support provided few updates. 3 days into their failed attempt to resolve the issue, I am requesting a refund via the we chat. The representative reported that the refund was processed.

  7. I have had no issue with paying my NameCheap domain for the past two years and for some reason they were able to run my card. It has been the same debit card for the past payments, so I don’t understand the issue. When trying to resolve this issue, I have submitted two tickets with no response. The online customer support is worthless, there is nothing they can do or say to resolve the problem and just keep telling me to wait. This has affected my business immensely, I can’t receive emails from my clients and my website has been completely suspended for nonpayment AND it was suspended 8 days prior to expiration. I need resolution now, it’s not like the pandemic has been bad enough for business, that I have to lose clients because NameCheap can’t run a card on file.

  8. My experience has been above and beyond so far. I have several domains with them and so far so good after three years of service.

  9. I’ve been trying for nearly 4 months to get off a spam mailing list. The domains used in the illegal spam emails are all Namecheap registrants. There are hundreds of them! But Namecheap ignores abuse reports. As long as they’re making a buck, they don’t seem to care.

  10. Namecheap allows fraudulent domains to be set up using other identities. Someone used my information, name, phone, email and address to set up and an authorized domain. I have tried in vain to get them to take it down with no luck. Its fraud.
