I placed a one-day car rental reservation online through Priceline to pick up a car at the Vancouver BC Canada airport, and was charged $47.88. One hour later I found out that the ad was misleading, the car was not located at the airport for pickup but was located several miles away; that doesn’t work for me. I immediately cancelled the reservation and was sent an email verifying the cancellation and stated that a refund would be issued within one business day. That never happened. Over the past 2.5 weeks, I called my bank several times to verify that no refund was received, and I contacted Priceline several times, I was told that it’s my bank’s fault and I need to deal with them. I called Priceline again today, and was told that the only way they would refund my money is if I agreed to do a 3-way call to my bank with Priceline listening in on the phone call verifying the bank never received the refund. How gross and unprofessional is that? Probably even illegal!! Anyways, they got that verification from my bank. Then Priceline told me that they would escalate my issue to their accounting department who will investigate??? Sure thing…WHAT THAT REALLY MEANS IS THAT THEY STOLE MY MONEY AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVER REFUNDING IT!!! BEWARE!!! DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY. Thank g-d I only lost $50.00, it could have been worse because after researching online, I learned that tens of thousands of consumers have also been robbed by Priceline…for a lot more money than $50.00.
