I had a hosting account with iPage (A subsidiary company of Newfold Digital) under a 3 year contract. I paid close to $300 for this service and had several of my business wordpress sites hosted here. A year within the contract iPage started suspending my accounts on the pretext of malicious scripts/malware and asked that I pay for a service provided by SiteLock (another sister company of Newfold Digital) to resolve this. However, upon investigation by my IT Team, we found that the scripts were simply 3rd party plugins. This caused my websites to go offline for over two years despite my continuous requests to lift the suspension, thus causing irreparable damage to my brand. To make matters worse, as I started to escalate, they simply cancelled my account CAUSING ALL MY WEBSITE RESOURCES AND CODE TO BE ERASED. Now they are hustling for more money to restore my resources for no fault of mine and are holding my proprietary website code hostage. This is unethical and quite appalling!!!
