Google Phones — Warranty Issues

I am requesting proper warranty coverage for my Pixel 2 phone which has a known screen burn-in defect. Over the past couple of months, the Pixel 2 phone I own has developed considerable screen burn-in. As the phone was originally purchased through Verizon (I had service with them at the time, but no longer do- mu current service is with Google Fi) I was told to check with them first on getting it replaced, and if they wouldn’t replace it then Google would honor their 2 year warranty on the phone. As Verizon indeed wouldn’t take the phone back, I initiated a warranty return through Google. Their stipulation however, which was never presented to me when I purchased the phone, is that I need to send in my current phone FIRST, then have them assess the situation, and THEN send me a replacement phone, which could take upwards of 3 weeks. As I need the phone for daily use (both business and personal) this is pretty much an impossible request, and appears to be a tactic to get out of replacing the phone under warranty. I have even gone so far as to suggest having my credit card be charged the full price for the replacement phone so that it can be shipped, and then when my phone is returned receive the full credit back, but this request has also been denied. I have a full running e-mail record of all of the exchanges between myself and various Google employees that I can submit as needed. At this point, I am requesting that Google honor their warranty by sending out a replacement phone to me FIRST, with a return package paid for by Goggle, at which point I will send my defective phone back. Or, if they prefer, they can give me a full phone credit through Google Fi and I will purchase a new phone through them.
