I bought a Nest Secure Alarm System and two Nest Detects from Google in April, 2020. At the time, Google advertised a professional monitoring service (which also included cell backup during Wi-Fi outages) for the system, for a monthly fee. I wasn’t interested in enrolling in the monitoring service right away, so I didn’t.Google discontinued the product within about 6 months of my purchase. They didn’t announce any changes to the availability of the monitoring service.I became interested in the monitoring service in October of 2022, but I didn’t see an option in the Nest app. I chatted with Google support, and they confirmed that they no longer offer the monitoring service.Currently, I own a device that doesn’t offer the features that Google advertised when I purchased it from them.
