I had utilized Google Fi services for their cellular plan since Feb 15th 2020. The service was great and and I had no issues until recently. I bought new phones for my wife and I (Pixel 5a) through Google because we were still happy with the service six months ago. Approximately three months ago, the phones would not receive cellular service and would intermittently lose connection to all Google Fi data services for days at a time. This issue was impactful enough where we had to change cell providers for reliable communication. I had contacted Google on a couple occasions for troubleshooting sessions and the issue could not be resolved. I had asked Google if I could return our phones as we now owe approximately $700 for the pair of phones as they were part of a “subscription plan”. Google will not accept a return of the phones even though they do not function reliably. Had the service quality and reliability been the same as of 2020 and 2021, I would still be a member of Google’s cellular plan. Where I had to move mine and my wife’s phone numbers to a new carrier, we canceled our subscription to Google Fi — We certainly would not have opted to purchase new devices over the course of 24 months if the service was unacceptable from the beginning of our relationship with Google Fi. I could not accept their degraded service and was forced to move to a more reliable carrier.
