I purchased a 2 liter Dr Pepper. On the shelf below the product the price label showed $1.95. I noticed at checkout that the receipt was for $2.10 before tax. I mentioned that to the FD employee who checked me out. She said the computer may not have updated the price. I asked if she was giving me a refund. She asked for my phone number. I told her that was private information and should not be necessary for my 15 cent refund. She said she was required to get your phone number for all refunds. I did not give her my phone number to make the purchase so I should not have to give her my phone number to get my money back. She absolutely refused to give me the refund even though she acknowleged that I was overcharged. Family Dollar should not attempt, or require, a customer providing personal information in order to get a refund for a cash transaction, especially if its due to an error on Family Dollar’s part. Change their policy requiring customer personal information, if that’s actually true as told to me by the FD employee. Have the FD employee send me an apology.
