Family Dollar — Purchase of a bad American Express Pre paid Card

I had purchased a prepaid Amex card in the amount of $500.00 on March 3, 2022 and the person that sold me the card was Cindy the Manager. I did not open the card until that evening and when I tried to make a purchase the card came up as No balance so this card had been used. So the following morning March 4th, 2022 I went back to the store and talked to a very nice lady I think her name was Nateesha, I couldn’t read the name very well anyway I explained the situation and she advised that they had been having trouble with those cards and I should of not been sold it and she went and removed the cards from the shelf. She was going to exchange it but it came up as pennied out. She called and spoke the Cindy the manager and Cindy got kind of mad at her which was not her fault she did not sell me the card Cindy did. I don’t want to put blame on Cindy but I didn’t think to much about it but when she was checking me out she also was messing with her phone and I am not sure what she was doing. Any way Cindy didn’t come in until noon on the 3rd so I was asked to come back and talk to her. when I came back to talk to her she saw me and said oh so you had trouble with your card. I told her yes and she said that she spoke to her District manager and they could not help me out and I had to call Amex and they would make right. I left in not a very good mood because I felt that they should of replaced the card and I have bought cards there before and have only had one other incident with the Google play card that was replaced. This was all the money I had for a month and need to pay some bills as I use these cards on certain bills. So I went and called Amex which were no help at all, they were able to find out that the card was used at 5:57pm Eastern time on the 3rd of March and a purchase was made from Apple.com from Salem NH and the lady I talked to said I needed to call Apple to get it stopped and them maybe in 7 days they could get a new card to me or refund my money. So again now I call Apple and spoke to a lady named Zoey told her my situation and she took the card number and tried to look it up and was not able to find any purchase for the amount of $500 on 3-3-22 with the card that I gave her, there was not record of it. She also said that she had got off the phone with another lady that had the exact same situation happen with the Amex card and same amount. They couldn’t do anything since they couldn’t find the purchase. So now I have spent two hours between Amex Apple on the phone. Zoey informed me that she felt that Family Dollar should reimburse for this since they sold a bad card. Also my bank credit card number was stolen and I had to stop that card a month ago and the only place I used that was at this store. Thank *** nothing was charged to that as I had received an so I immediately called the bank because of the notification I had received. It was two transactions for like $12.84 back to back so I guess that is what triggered my bank to notify me of a fraudulent charge.
