I have been employed since May 2021, the store manager has lied to her dm for a long time. Family Dollar does not allow you to employ family. (Her son has worked at 10440 for 2 yrs) She took her vacation after being told not to due to not being fully staffed. Which left me with 8 days on before having a day off. The dm does nothing to her for her bad behavior. Once you do something that she doesn’t like, she treats you disrespectfully. She has hired drug addicts, and people with no experience. And gives minimal training, expecting you to be able to do the things you were not trained for. The list goes on and on They have you do bank errands off the clock. And once your done doing the extra off the clock they treat you like garbage. I worked last night, and with her attitude she has created a hostiletoxic work environment. They have lost several really good employees because of her actions. Sadly I emailed the regional manager, with no response so far. And the District manager yell at the associates, unacceptable is all I can say. Last night was my last night, I cannot take the abuse. This manager needs to be held accountable. The district manager also needs to be held accountable. And not black list an ex-associate for walking away from toxic environment. Yes a person may quit, but look at the reasons why that person left. You cannot bully and intimidate people to do what you want.
I always see signs at the cash register asking for ones and fives. This shouldn’t be necessary. The manager needs to figure out how much change will be needed daily and then get it from the bank. If a manager can’t do that, it is time for better training. This should go without saying, but I needed to say it. Other businesses are better prepared for change. It’s time for improvement and caring for their customers.
