Facebook — AI needs human oversight

Unconditional Love Pet Rescue (ULPR), in Green Forest Arkansas, streams videos to help raise money. Facebook has demonitized the site, alleging copyright violations (for, among other things, Happy Birthday which has been in the public domain since 2016). The only other thing that could POSSIBLY generate such an accusation is Diane Ferguson, the owneroperator of ULPR, occasionally singing … usually just a couple of lines of any song, and often with the words altered. To cast this as a copyright infringement is ridiculous, as any human viewer would surely agree. But we live in a world where AI makes the determination, and makes it impossible to appeal or reverse. Have humans review the complained of videos and, if there is really copyright violation (which I highly doubt), advise Diane and ULPR of what, EXACTLY needs to change in order for her subscriptions and ads to resume. Telling somebody that they’ve violated the Terms and Conditions of Use without telling them how or when is not helpful. Punishing them without any kind of trial (where the ULPR side of the story could be presented to something other than an algorithm) is just bullying behaviour.
