1) eBay representatives are requiring a certain Florida Sales Tax exemption form for resellers and refuse to accept the Florida DR-97 which is the proper FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE form in my case as a non-reseller.
2) eBay representative will not answer me when I asked why they will not accept the DR-97 and instead tell me Please follow prior instructions. Until then, you are rejected.
The DR-97 has the FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE logo on it, is from the official website, and states that you may use in accordance with Rule 12A-1.038, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C). [Rule 12A-1.038 Consumer’s Certificate of Exemption; Exemption Certificates]
They should either cite the law that backs their rejection of the DR-97 or accepts the DR-97 and look at the form to determine if it is acceptable or not.
