eBay — Fraudulent Merchant

I purchased a personal item on Aug 24th,2021 and it arrived by August 31 of 2021. When I received it, it was noticeably different than what was displayed on the Merchants ad. So; the merchant agreed to take it back. I sent it back on Sept 3rd through Priority Certified Mail. It arrived in Richmond BC, on Sept 5h, two days later. From there it went down to Seattle, and for the 8th, and then onto its final destination in San Anita California, where it arrived on the morning (9:05 AM) on Sept 11, 2021. I had messaged the seller as to where my refund was, and he said he hadn’t received it yet. In the meantime, I have Canada Post’s investigative team working on the case. I had messaged back the seller to get his phone number. He gave me a number, but I’m not sure it is legitimate, because Canada Post tried to call him, but there was no answer. After speaking to the Supervisor of the Post office here in Calgary, she informed me that it was there, but maybe not scanned in or he got it without signing for it. Anyway, I contacted eBay when they still had a phone number on the 28th of this month. I spoke to agent Anne. She assured me that my money would be forthcoming and to call back the next day. Once again I was assured that he got it and that my funds would be reimbursed the $440 by the 3rd of this month. So; On October the 1st, I called the card company for which the card was used, and they claim that no funds have come their way. So then I started filing more complaints on eBay for harboring these types of merchants who fraudulently sell something and promise to honor Ebay’s policies and then screw the unsuspecting victim (buyer) over, and disappear into the woodwork. Mr. Lan the Merchant, has not responded to messages or phone calls. He is lying low on this because he does not want to live up to the agreement for which he agreed. eBay is not doing a whole lot either, except for making a promise for which they don’t intend on keeping either. eBay continues to be a melting pot for incredible merchants who are looking for a fast dollar no matter whether they steal it or whatever it takes. eBay still allows them to continue and can not be trusted. FULL REFUND. IT\’s been a month since I sent the small parcel back to the merchant Mr. Lan. I have proof of that. I have done my part. That\’s no longer on me! I was promised my money back, and I want it back. eBay has lost my trust! I have been with them for approx. 16 years, and I have been screwed over before, but not for this much money. I was under the impression that eBay had cleaned up their act on shady merchants, but such as not the case!
