E-Z Mart — False Advertisement and Rude Employees

A product was advertise labeled for 21.99 in two different locations within the store. However, when I took the product up to pay for it, the product rang up at a higher price. I asked the clerk why it was higher and she said the price that was listed on the advertisement label was before tax. I explained to her that the price of 21.99 was listed for the product in two different locations in the store but the product rang up at 22.99. She just stared at me blankly as if she didn’t understand what I was saying. The other lady (older) that was behind the counter started walking toward the back of the store where the product is located. I thought she was going to check the advertisement label. I followed her to show her where the two advertised prices were located. Much to my surprise, she RIPPED (like jerked) off the 21.99 advertisement labels that were in front of the product. She then stated that they had raised the prices and it was illegal to change the price of beer or cigarettes, which I knew was untrue. I asked when that changed and she responded that that’s what she has always been told since she started working here. I then pointed out the 21.99 advertised price on the product display as we were walking back to the register. She (the older lady) then RIPPED that vendor advertisement label off the display. I was taken back by the aggressive way she (the older lady) ripped the vendor display advertisement label off. I calmly stated to the older lady that she was being very rude in the way she ripped the advertisement label down. She did not respond verbally but did give a smirk. Due to the extremely rude behavior of the older lady, I decided not to purchase from them. I told the girl at the register that I was not going to purchase from them and walked out. I then went back inside to obtain the name of the store manager and was told, very rudely, by the girl behind the register that she didn’t know who the manager is. I asked, you don’t know who the manager is, and she replied (rudely), no, I’m new, so I don’t know who the manager is. At that point I stated that she was also rude, then the girl stated stating that I jumped on all over the older lady and said some other things that I honestly don’t remember because I was quite upset at that point. I told the girl not to speak to me in that manner. Then the older lady came up told me to leave the store, and I said no problem. She then started not to come back, in which I replied not to worry that I wouldn’t return, but I was going to contact her manager. She started to go right ahead. Apparently, false advertising is completely okay with the store manager. I will also be contacting the corporation commission to file a complaint. In addition to the cooperation commission, I will file a complaint with the EZ Mart corporate office. The fact is, they would not honor their advertised price and I was treated very rudely by the employees, and then I was asked to leave the store because I questioned them not honoring the advertised price. I will not return to that store, even if I had not been told not to return. The store hadhas false advertisements and rude employees. They should have honored the advertised price and should not have been rude about the entire situation.
