I paid my car off in April 2022, they sent my title to the wrong address. When I called in May they were waiting on the title to be returned. I was mailed a lien release letter within 5 days from the call, during this call I was told it was my fault that the title was lost as I didn’t update my address, I advised that I provided my PO Box to the dealership when I purchased the car. I called back in June and was told that the title shows returned to capitol one but was lost within their company. I waited another several weeks to call back, this time they found the title, but the system was down and I had to call back in 5 days to request them to mail it out again. I called August 10 and was told the title was mailed on Aug 4th. I waited 16 days still no title, called back and was told that I can sell my car with just a lien release and that I don’t need the title (which makes me believe there was no title sent) It is now August 31st, still no title. I am finally requesting to speak to a manager, was told that there is not 1 manager within the entire capitol one auto finance available to speak to me, the representative will have to submit a request and I should get a call back on Sept 6 and I can take my lien release to the DMV to get a title myself. I have fulfilled my part of the contract by paying my car off, why should I have to pay additional money to obtain a title that is owed to me? I would have thought that after making their customer wait for 4 months to receive the title that they would have express mailed it and required a signature to make sure that it was received. It’s very obvious that customer satisfaction is not their main concern. when I receive the title to my car that I am owed from my finance company.
