I first met him on a phone chat line. He was very charming. He was using a fake name and presented himself as a much younger successful man. We had similar interests and developed a friendship on the phone. He promised he would take me on a trip to New York and made several other promises. But over time I began to learn the truth. (I know. I should have known better and never spoken to him again after I found out about the first lies.) The majority of what he told me about himself in the beginning was totally untrue. He was lying about his age and his marital status,etc. He was very charming and because we had many things in common I stupidly continued our friendship. He was later laid-off from his job and he begged to move in with me. We were romantically involved at the time. After helping him move and living together for about a week I really saw what he was like. I told him I had no further romantic interest in him and insisted it needed to be a roommate only situation. He would constantly make promises and not follow through. He promised he would help with rent,etc. when he moved in. But the day after he was moved in my apartment I find out he was broke. He was in debt and bill collectors began to call for him. De he wouldn’t bathe regularly, wash his clothes, or clean up after himself or his cat. Others that visited commented on his personal odor. I should have listened to my friends who were amazed I had anything to do with him and immediately cut off all ties. He found a job but he constantly argued with me when I insisted he pay his part. Since we were just roommate we both dated other people. He was seeing other women(even one of my girlfriends)and saw no problem with having a woman in his room but freaked out and became possessive and unstable when I mentioned bringing a man I was dating over just to visit. At times his behavior was frightening and I called the police because I feared for my safety. He told me himself he’s been committed to a mental hospital more than once. Fortunately, I finally got him to move out. He has gone by his middle name in the past and used it for at least one dating site I know of.
