Booking.com — Ripping Us Off

We had to cancel a flight last summer, due to a family emergency; and thankfully we did because our family member passed away. When I canceled, booking.com politely explained not to worry, we had open tickets that we could use in a year. Now we’re trying to rebook the trip; witth our jobs, we only have specific days to travel, but, even though I contact booking.com every day (x 9 days now), we were told (daily) that they’re looking into it; be patient; and they’ll call me back….?! Nothing – it’s the same daily. Every day for 9 straight days. I have all the reference and ticket numbers but we’re getting ZERO help. I even tried to call the airline directly, with all my ticket numbers, and though they were very polite, they’re unable to help since the booking was through booking.com. Meanwhile, the open tickets are for a specific amount, and every day booking.com doesn’t assist us, flights are getting booked and ticket prices are going up. booking.com is literally stealing our money at this point. I either want my $5000 back, or just please book the flights! Time is seriously running out and we’ve already lost the rentals that we had in place at our destination (because I couldn’t the arrivals) They’re help, so far, has been no help at all and we’re feeling not only extremely ripped off, but sad and frustrated since this is the first getaway we’ve teies to attempt since the loss of our family Book our “open tickets” w/in 62 hours or refund the amount initially paid and I’ll rebook myself. Thank you.
