Booking.com — Property Not As Advertised

The place was filthy and in ill repair. Items listed were not there such as washer and dryer and BBQ and grilling area. The vault was broken and the repair person who was scheduled to arrive the next morning to repair never showed up and we never received a call back on this whatsoever. The place is filthy! I have multiple pictures of mold and dirt. Inadequate dishes, three drinking glasses for 8 people. We planned our New Years dinner around barbecuing steaks. Imagine our surprise when we got there with steaks and all the fixings with no promised BBQ. The coffee pot was ridiculous – took over an hour to brew a pot – and that was with us working on it constantly. It needs cleaning and descaling. The stove had a light on that wouldn’t turn off causing us to constantly worry about an element being left on which wasn’t the case – but we were constantly double checking. The toaster set toast on fire and would not pop up. You had to stay right there and watch it like a hawk – it didn’t matter if it was on the lowest or highest setting – same result! The caulking and mold issues, particularly in the bathrooms was unacceptable and a health liability. No wine glasses at all, no opener, inadequate dishes and cutlery for 8 people. No dish towels or cloths – we had to buy our own. The dishwasher was sketchy so we didn’t use it at all. I have contacted Booking.com on multiple occasions now with my concerns and am getting absolutely nowhere. My last note from them said they would be back to me within 24 hours – it’s been several weeks. This is a totally unacceptable situation and I want a refund. I have booked lots of other sites with Booking.com and had no problems but this is just not okay. They should not be listing properties with all the included items if this is not the case. They listed the place as a four bedroom unit. The room we stayed in had no proper door – it was a piece of wood that wouldn’t stay shut. The room had no closet and no wardrobe which was also listed. The unit was advertised as air conditioned – this was also an issue. They need to reimburse me for at least 50% of the cost. This place should never be listed with Booking.com. It is not up to par and the information sent to me from Booking.com is very mis-leading. Booking.com is also not responding to me and this is not acceptable. I have booked with them multiple times, always paid my bills in full and have never complained.
