On January 30, 2018 I purchased a Dewalt 5 Tool Kit, On April 30th, 2020 the Drill Failed And Company Will Not Repair Or Replace Under 3 Year Warranty On January 30, 2018, I purchased a Dewalt 5 Tool Cordless Kit with a 3 year warranty. On April 30th, 2020, the Drill stopped working while drilling pilot holes on 7/8″ Deck Boards. I contacted Stanley Black & Decker and sent the tool in for warranty repair. I was contacted from the repair center and told that the tool was not covered under warranty due to an internal bearing went out. The 3 year warranty covers manufactures defects. Their warranty states “Three-Year Limited Warranty. DEWALT will repair, without charge, any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship for three years from the date of purchase.” An internal bearing going out on a tool that had minimal use and was only used for drilling pilot holes in installing Kitchen Cabinets and then for pilot holes in deck boards shows that the product was defective, poorly built or made with defective or inferior products. Dewalt refused to cover this defect under their warranty; which is basically stating that their warranty is worthless as they do not back their product or adhere to the warranty as stated on their products. This drill had minimal usage and to be honest I could have purchased a $20.00 chinese model that would have lastest far longer than this overpriced Dewalt Drill. This was my first time purchasing Dewalt Tools as I was switching from Makita (who has always backed their warranties) but with Dewalt refusing to back their products with the warranty I do not feel that this company is worth doing business with since they simply want to charge high dollar for their tools and then refuse to honor their warranty.
