Booked a 10 day stay at Hampton Inn Eldorado Hills. Fact. THE error; booked quickly as it was the funeral of my father using my phone. Thought I was on the hotel site. Stayed there multiple times to visit parents.upon arriving in CA at 0100 in the morning learn that there’s an El Dorado Hills in AR, Arkansas. Immediately cancelled AR booking, 0115. And booked at the counter atv0130 in CA. Priceline said the ten days was non-refundable (again not aware of that variable) and if I provide a copy ofvthe death certificate they would consider my request for partial refund. Two great service representatives gave me hope, yet one and the last call to Priceline was rude and said no refund, for any reason will be considered. The money, did not go to the Hampton Inn, the cancelation allowed them to rebook the room – Priceline keeps the money. So I now have to pay over $1500 to NOT stay in AR, and over $1800 in CA, during an emotional time with family. The logic is not there, nor is the compassion of knowing the mistake was not to step away from responsibility, we agreed to pay two days in AR. I feel sadden st the lack of compassion to so comfortably take my money. Not charge me for 8 days at a hotel I did not stay at, and immediately informed all involved the room was not needed.
