My pixel 4xl started having the issue with its battery that most pixels had. I get a pop up for more information and it redirects me to a google page to check my imei to see if im covered under extended warranty for this specific issue. It says I am and there will be no cost to me. I have them send me a shipping box and use the prepaid shipping label. Mind you ny phone at this point only worked half the time and it had to be plugged in to a wall otherwise it wouldnt boot. A few days later I get an update email from google saying that the repair has chaged and.must be approved. It now says battery issue and screen problem. I talk with customer support agent and explain there was nothing wrong with my screen just the battery that effect many pixels. The send me the post inspection report “: Device won’t turn on, Device freezes, Device won’t charge when power adapter is connected, Power intermittently turns on and off, Power button doesn’t work, Wireless charging doesn’t work (for phones with this feature), Quick charge doesn’t work (for phones with this feature) – Screen is blank, Display flickers, One or more display backlights are off, Touchscreen not working as intended, Backlight emits from the edges of the display, Lines appear on display.”. Seems kinda weird cant charge or turn on but got this stuff about flashing and backlights. So I contact them again today and they say they will look into it. They explain that they do indepth diagonostics that identify issues in the sytem “that may notbe visible ir detected frim the outside “….. But my screen was working.just fine before I sent it in besided being a landline. So now either have to pay $130 to get something fixed that isnt broken or get it sent back with the broken battery that caused the extended warranty. They will give you the run around and just try get some more money out of ya. Probably my last pixel phone I’ll buy.
