I got behind on my rent due to 2 surgeries where I had to pay some out of pocket expenses. Mr. Barron at the New Orleans, LA came out to my apartment stating they come help veterans with rental payments. I NEVER LIED about any income. Last week Mr. Barron called and told me his supervisor stated, “if I paid $2,000 they would pay the remainder of my rent”. Then yesterday he called and said I was over the income limit. NOW I have an eviction notice due to their miscommunication. I sent everything personal including birth certificate and social security card. I feel that as a 100% service connected veteran they should have had measures in place for “excruciating circumstances” such as mine to help veterans not become homeless. Basically I was lied to. Pay my rent as they promised me and my landlord
