Today we called at our local Lidl (above) and, amongst other items picked up a dozen 1litre bottles of Freeway Ginger Ale-as we have done many times before. When we got to the till we were advised that a new policy was in force, whereby customers could not purchase more than six bottles. When we queried why this was the case and why was there no signs to that effect on display at the area where the Ginger Ales were displayed, the assistant advised us there was signs to that effect on display throughout the store. Rather than get into an arguement, we advised that we had not seen any such signage anywhere in the shop or on any of the flyersadverts which Lidl issue. We left with six bottles and a sense of grievance that there was a hidden agenda for the restriction being imposed. By showing written action of the restriction.
