In June of 2021 I received a fraud from CO, and I verified that the card had been stolen, and to cancel the account. They were more anxious to get me another card than protect my interests. The card and account were never actually cancelled, so auto pays continued to be paid, even though I had transferred those charges to other accounts. I called again, because I never received the new card, so they said they would send a new card. All this while they kept the original account open and collected my $50 auto pay. I called again today for the 4th time to try to resolve this. I finally realized they had no reason to resolve it, they were collecting the $50 auto pay, and were charging me interest on the remaining balance of all the blocked charges they were letting through. I went to my bank blocked any further payments to Cap One as a temporary solution.
