Williams & Company Custom Interiors installed drapery hardware over slider doors covering our screened porch. The drapes fall down and don’t slide without using a ladder. We paid the owner of the Co., for the design, fabrication, and installation of drapes intended to cover slider doors opening to our screened porch in early 2019. The hardware used by Ms. to hang the drapes was never strong or large enough to accommodate the drapes. From the very beginning, She had to wrap the drapery rods with duct or electrical tape to prevent the drapery sliders from sticking (yet they still stuck at the same joint). The rod used to manually pull the drapes into a desired position even bent and disconnected from the drapes and is not usable. The slider clips that hold the drapes on the drape rod are too tiny and the drapes have fallen off the clips, so the drapes look terrible and can’t be moved without climbing a ladder. We have texted, emailed, and called Ms. many times including visiting her store with the intention of resolving this problem. While I believe it is her mistake for not ordering and installing the proper hardware, I am willing to share some of the cost of fixing this mess. But I don’t believe it is right to allow her to get away with such shoddy workmanship. We have put off forcing the issue because she had informed us of some family health issues. But after living more than a year in our beautiful new home with non-functional, drooping, ugly drapes, we have to take a stand for what is right.
